Are you looking for a skincare treatment that provides immediate and tangible results? Here at BAM Aesthetics & Wellness our HydraFacial® can be that effective treatment for you. Effective for all skin types, this facial makes you feel rejuvenated and glowing. While basic spa facials can be enjoyable and relaxing, they typically do not provide immediate results as our HydraFacial can.

This popular and non-invasive skincare treatment uses patented technology to cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate your skin. We strive to help you achieve the best results for your skin. Our HydraFacial treatment can help reduce hyperpigmentation, minimize fine lines, as well as improve cellular turnover.

Generally, many dermatologists and practitioners consider this treatment more efficient than a typical spa facial. However, this type of facial must be conducted by a licensed Aesthetician like our incredible staff at BAM.

So, how exactly does HydraFacial work, and what makes it so popular with so many people? This post is here to help you learn more about the potential benefits and what makes it effective compared to other non-invasive procedures.

How Does a HydraFacial Work Exactly?

The HydraFacial uses a specialized machine that combines water, antioxidants, and other nutrients to cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate the skin. The process is similar to another treatment called microdermabrasion, which involves using an instrument to carefully sand your skin, exfoliating the thicker, outer uneven skin layer.

On the other hand, a HydraFacial follows a three-part process which makes it more effective when compared to microdermabrasion. Additionally, there's zero downtime (recovery time), and the complete treatment process ranges between 20–30 minutes. Your facial is completed with these steps:

Cleanse and Peel

The cleanse and peel is the first step when a practitioner exfoliates the skin. Exfoliation involves removing dead skin cells from the outer layer of the skin to reveal healthy, radiant skin underneath. During this stage, your practitioner uses a gentle glycolic and salicylic acid solution to cleanse and exfoliate the skin.

Extract and Hydrate

A HydraFacial machine uses a special tip to extract impurities from pores while infusing the skin with moisturizing serums, helping to leave the skin clean, hydrated, and glowing.

Infuse and Protect

After the initial steps of a HydraFacial treatment, a licensed esthetician or any other qualified skincare professional will apply "boosters," or serums, to your skin. These serums are tailored to your specific skincare goals, such as eliminating the presence and appearance of hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, dull skin, or enlarged pores.

The Benefits of Getting a HydraFacial

Some potential benefits of getting a HydraFacial include:

  1. Improved skin texture and tone: A HydraFacial exfoliates the skin and infuses it with antioxidants and other nutrients, which can help improve its overall texture and tone.
  2. Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: This helps to stimulate collagen production, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  3. Improved elasticity: A HydraFacial can help improve the skin's elasticity, making it look firmer and more youthful.

Other potential benefits include:

HydraFacial for Acne

A HydraFacial is an ideal treatment for acne as it uses a vortex-extraction nozzle to remove impurities and unclog pores. This method helps to reduce the appearance of acne and prevent future breakouts, thus reducing the redness and inflammation associated with acne.

HydraFacial for Blackheads

Because HydraFacial is non-invasive and painless, it's an effective treatment plan for blackheads. The exfoliating action of HydraFacial can help to remove dead skin cells and other debris that can contribute to the formation of blackheads.

HydraFacial for Rosacea

The hydrating serums used in HydraFacial help soothe and calm the skin, relieving the discomfort and irritation of rosacea.

HydraFacial for Anti-Aging Concerns

The antioxidants and other nutrients infused into the skin during a HydraFacial can help to protect your skin from environmental stressors that can contribute to the signs of aging, thus making your skin look firmer and more youthful.

HydraFacial FAQS

For more information about HydraFacial, we have answered some common frequently asked questions about the treatment below!

What Is the Difference Between Dermalinfusion vs. HydraFacial?

The main similarities between Dermalinfusion and HydraFacial are that both are skin exfoliating treatments with zero downtime and can be performed in about 30 minutes, but they have notable differences.

A Dermalinfusion is a customized exfoliating treatment that uses a diamond-tip applicator to resurface the skin and infuse it with nourishing serums. The treatment penetrates deep into the skin, resulting in maximum absorption of the serums. It boosts skin hydration and causes an increase in epidermal thickness.

On the other hand, HydraFacial is a multi-step treatment that exfoliates, cleanses, and hydrates the skin for a glowing and healthy appearance. It combines suction, serum, and anti-bacterial blue light to treat the skin by stimulating collagen and elastin. This is achieved through five steps: exfoliation (clearing dead skin cells and dirt), peeling (using glycolic and salicylic acids to peel the outer layer of the skin), extraction (using a suction device to clear serum and open pores), boosting (using anti-bacterial blue light or other treatments to kill bacteria), fusion (using antioxidants and nourishing treatments to hydrate the skin).

The main difference between Dermalinfusion and HydraFacial is that Dermalinfusion is designed to resurface the skin and incorporate a serum into the process, while HydraFacial is aimed at addressing dead skin cells and excess sebum

What Is the Difference Between HydraFacial vs. Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is an exfoliating skin treatment that uses a wand to remove the top layer of the skin through friction or sanding. It treats skin problems like wrinkles, fine lines, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, and more.

On the other hand, HydraFacial is a multi-step non-surgical treatment that involves exfoliating the skin and infusing it with nourishing serums to stimulate collagen and elastin production for a healthier and revitalized appearance. The treatment is ideal for skin conditions such as fine lines, dark spots, acne scars, enlarged pores, and more. After exfoliating the dead cells and dirt, the skin is peeled, and impurities are extracted before applying a moisturizing serum and antioxidants for hydration.

HydraFacial treatments are gentler on the skin than microdermabrasion; hence safer for all skin types. With HydraFacial treatment, you can also request treatment boosters customized to your unique skin concerns.

What Is the Difference Between HydraFacial vs. Radiofrequency Therapy?

HydraFacial is a skin exfoliating and hydrating treatment that addresses common skin concerns like dryness, acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, and more to achieve a radiant and healthier appearance. HydraFacial treatment uses a device that exfoliates and extracts impurities from the skin, then infuses it with moisturizing serums to plump and revitalize it.

Radio Frequency (RF) is a minimally invasive skin tightening treatment that uses heat to stimulate collagen production and increase cellular turnover. It uses microneedles to distribute energy underneath the skin, regenerating tissues and firming the skin. As the heat penetrates deeper into the skin, it prevents damage on the surface, resulting in a smoother appearance. For best results, the treatment should be done in-office by a specialist, though there are approved devices for home use.

What Kind of Aftercare Is Needed with HydraFacial Treatments?

HydraFacial treatment has zero downtime; you can return to normal activities after the session. However, you must follow the specific aftercare instructions to minimize potential side effects.

Here are some critical aftercare dos and don'ts you should take note of:

  • Do not pick at your skin, as doing so can cause irritation or infection
  • Use a gentle cleanser and avoid exfoliating products the first day after the treatment
  • Keep off makeup immediately after treatment
  • Use an SPF 30+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure within 48-72 hours after treatment
  • Avoid sweating by avoiding excessive heat (gym, sauna) within the first day after the treatment
  • Refrain from laser treatments and waxing for 48 hours after treatment

How Many Treatments Do I Need to See Results?

Results start showing after the first HydraFacial treatment. However, you need more than one treatment for lasting treatment, probably 3-6 treatment sessions scheduled 4-6 weeks apart.
